Gyros with Tzatziki

You may recall all the drunk nights you ate kebab, and in that intoxicated state it tasted like a piece of salvation. The problem with the name kebab is that originally it means something totally different, so the stage belongs to gyros now…only for now! Of course, in the future I will show you a recipe for a true kebab, but not today. Anyway, now we are going to transform the food of the gluttonous into the food of the champions, and you won’t see any decrease in its culinary value. It will be so Greek, it will make you bankrupt as well!

I actually eat this very often when I’m cutting fat, as the tzatziki fills your belly easily, and despite having an endless pit craving for food all the time inside my stomach, sometimes I literally struggle to eat enough of this, but the taste compensates me for everything. It is also super quick to prepare it, as you can even marinate the meat overnight, and while you are cooking it, you just prepare the sauce and garnish, and it is literally ready.

Video is coming in spring or summer!

Ingredients:

  • olive oil for marinating (you can be generous)
  • chicken/turkey/lean pork meat
  • gyros seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic, cumin, paprika, oregano, coriander, cayenne pepper, parsley, thyme)
  • whole grain wraps/whole grain pita
  • cucumber
  • greek yoghurt
  • tzatziki seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic, dill, parsley, mint, thyme)
  • extra virgin olive oil for additional fats
  • feta cheese
  • veggie mix (onion, olives, tomato, lettuce)

Method:

  • heat up a pan, and pour the marinated meat in it
  • shred a cucumber
  • squeeze the water out of it as much as you can
  • add the greek yoghurt, tzatziki seasoning, extra virgin olive oil
  • chop your cheese and veggies
  • stuff all this goodness into the whole grain wrap or pita

Tips:

  • you can marinate the meat overnight
  • but prepare the sauce and garnish fresh every day
  • if you are a hungry time, then increase the wrap or pita amount
  • if you are struggling to eat enough, then just add enough olive oil to the sauce for sufficient calories

And that’s it. Bon appetit!

Isn't feta unhealthy?

No, but your mother is.

I heard tomato is bad for my muscles. Is that true?

When you are in the middle of the Mr. Olympia preparation doing everything 110%, then you can disrespect the red gold, but until then just shut the fuck up.

Isn't too much dairy bad for us?

Yes, it is completely unnatural compared to the dry chicken with extreme amount of rice, that is the pure natural food humans have been eating for millennia, right?

It has begun!

Hey all, it took me almost a year, but my blog-website combo is finally ready to go public. It's still not completely ready though, but I hope that by publishing I'll motivate myself more.
